At SHABA, our mission is to provide safe, affordable, and sustainable water supply services to the people of Borama and beyond. Since our establishment in 2003, we have revolutionized water management in the region through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, ensuring reliable water delivery and fostering community development.
We operate and manage Borama’s water supply system, overseeing every aspect from infrastructure development to daily service provision. This includes drilling and equipping boreholes, constructing reservoirs, expanding pipelines, and implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency. By reducing water losses from 60% to 10% and increasing household connections from 130 to over 20,000+, we have transformed access to clean water in the region.
Our work is vital in addressing the growing demand for water in Borama, where rapid population growth and climate change pose significant challenges. Through strategic investments, we ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of clean water, contributing to improved public health, economic growth, and overall quality of life.
Looking to the future, SHABA aims to further enhance its impact by adopting renewable energy solutions, expanding infrastructure, and implementing long-term water resource management plans. We are committed to tackling emerging challenges such as climate change and population growth, ensuring that our services remain reliable and resilient. Additionally, we aim to extend our expertise to other regions, sharing best practices and fostering partnerships that promote sustainable development.
Through innovation, collaboration, and unwavering dedication, SHABA continues to play a crucial role in shaping a sustainable future for water management in Somaliland and beyond.
